The Black Horse was situated on Lower Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in 2020.
 

 
Listed building details:
Public house. Probably early C17 with C20 alterations. Timber-framed, rendered. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys, 3 1st floor windows. Two C20 round-arched brick entrances containing half-glazed doors. C20 casement windows throughout, brick soldier arches to ground floor 1st floor band. Decorative iron bracket with signboard. Swept roof, end stack to left, ridge stack to right. Outshut to rear under catslide roof. Interior: chamfered cross beam. To right, longitudinal stop-chamfered beam and exposed joists with hollow chamfers and run-out stops. Cambered end wall plate and part of posts visible. Left side reproduction beams
and joists.
