The Abinger Arms was situated on Guildford Road. This pub closed in 2013 and is now used as the Abinger Cookery School.
I had my first pint in this pub in 1965. Friary Meaux tied pub I believe. Good bar food, especially the pasties. Dart board in the public, I never went into the saloon. Mostly local farm workers were customers in the public. Pub run by Mr. Watney, who it was rumoured, was part of the Red Barrel dynasty. Friary’s was better !
