The Three Tuns was situated at 27 High Street. This pub was demolished c1950.

My mother, Gladys Ellen Wye, was born in Dorking, and relatives of hers ran The Three Tuns on High Street. We lived in London, but we visited Dorking often to see family and have long walks on Box Hill. I remember visits to The Three Tuns as a young boy, and recall that they had song birds in a cage or cages near the bar. And am I right in remembering that The Three Tuns was near the market, now long gone I assume. (I remember a great bull at the market with a whopping great ring through its nose, quite terrifying for a young lad.) We moved to Canada in 1952, after the pub had been pulled down.
