The White Lion was situated at 8-10 South Street. This grade-II listed pub was present by 1825, when the publican was Joseph Bottlewell, and is now in retail use.

C17 timber-framed building. Faced with roughcast. 3 storeys. 2 windows. 2 gables. Tiled roof. Sliding sash windows. Modern shop fronts.
