The Magpie was situated at 30 South Street. This pub changed its name to The Symonds Well in the 1990s.

it was re-launched as Acorn 30 in the mid-2010s, but around 2018 changed the owners and name again - to Rocket bar. Rocket bar didn't survive long, perhaps a year or so, before shutting down. The building stood empty for a couple of years. Eventually, it found new owners, and, after a substantial renovation, opened as Koza - restaurant and cocktail bar - in early 2023.
