Advertiser, 19th November 1932 |
Sir - The passage of vehicles from
Guildford railway station and Bridge Street in the direction of the Hog's
Back, and vice versa, could be made much easier and safer, at no great
expense, by the cutting off of a large piece from the sharp corner opposite
the Railway Hotel. It is not, perhaps, generally realised that, when a long
vehicle is on full lock, the "gauge" for practical purposes, is very nearly
doubled, owing to the rear wheels tracking so far inside the front one. No
doubt there are many corners which might with advantage be smoothed off;
having come down from the day when wheelbases were all short; but this one
is outrageous. |
