The Iron Horse was situated at
27aBletchingley Road. This pub opened in 1956 and closed in 2008. It has
since been demolished. |

My Grandparents were landlords there (Joyce and Dave Wells) during
the late sixties when it was owned by Charringtons. This was a lovely pub in
its day. Shame! |

My mum and dad, Sid and Enid Wort, were landlords of this pub from 1959 to
1965. I was 7 months old when we moved in. I remember in the public bar
the lino had a pattern of a railway track on it. There was a large room
behind the saloon and public bar which stretched the width of the pub. A
flat roof was above this, access was from the flat that we lived in and I
used to play in a paddling pool on the flat roof. |
