The
Old Nags Head was situated at 11
Upper Green West. |
|
This pub was frequented in the
late 1960s and early 1970s by a World Heavyweight boxing contender by the
name of Don Cockell, who fought Rocky Marciano for the world title in the
1950's. The landlords at the time were Brian and Avis Hall. Don was a
skilled wrought ironworker and was responsible for much of the iron work in
many of the local pubs. |
