The Swan Hotel was situated at 7 High Street. This pub was demolished in 1937.

I am presently translating and editing the two volumes of Bishop Waynflete’s Register - Bishop Winchester from 1447/86 - in it is a mention of the Swan hostel in Reigate on 17th July 1452 in which place a Commission took place that deposed the then Prior of Reigate for gross negligence. Clearly as with many pubs then this came under the orbit of the Church.
