A very old pub, The Mitre, was was situated at 53 Heath Road.
It was demolished several years ago
to make way for flats. |

This pub was built around 1860. The building
which had two bars, the public one being on the left hand side of the
building, the lounge on the right hand side, fronted the street with minimal
space between it and the pavement. Its car park was at the rear and it had a
public footpath running down the right hand side of its boundary. |
