The Wood Pigeon
was situated on Station Approach. This pub closed in 2007 and
has now been converted to flats. |
|
I used to walk down my nextdoor
neighbours garden, over a railway bridge through the station car park and
into the pub. It was popular with commuters, but of a lunchtime you might
well find the famous WWII Polish fighter pilot become artist, Stefan Knapp
who lived and worked a short walk away in Sandhills. |
