The Avins Bridge was situated on College Road. Built in 1880 as the Station Inn which later became the Railway Hotel then Avins Bridge Hotel and until relatively recently was a restaurant. It has now been converted into a large residence. Avins Bridge was the name given to the crossing of College Road over the railway line to a large residence.
