The Kings Head was situated at 61 Rye Road. This pub is now used as a veterinary surgery.

My grandfather. Reginald Wheeler, was publican/manager here in the 1930’s.  I know the pub was still open in the 1970’s or 1980’s as my late father wrote to the then current publican who sent us some photos of it’s refurbishment. My grandmother, great grandmother and great aunts used used to do the catering for coach parties out in the garden, whilst Dad was babysat/protected by their black dog (according to him, anyway!)
