The White Hart was situated at 37 North Parade.
Present in 1938 it has now been demolished. |
|
Following demolition, it was originally replaced
by a new pub called the Hop Picker, which had a fake oast-house roof. The
Hop Picker closed down in the mid 1990s and the building reopened as a
Tex-Mex restaurant called Smith & Wesson. The real Smith & Wesson company
objected to that, so they renamed it Smith & Western. The photo
below shows
the building in its current Smith & Western livery. |
