Beach Hotel
|

The Beach Hotel has now sadly
been replaced by seaside flats but was a large old fashioned bar with
exceedingly comfy chairs. You almost expected to see a tea dance there but I
never remember it being crowded. Could have been an absolutely tremendous
location but was always too genteel. |

The original building was built c1775, a single
storey added in 1818, and demolished in 1887/8. A 'new' building was built
in 1887 alongside the original building, both existed together for a while.
Originally called The Beach House Hotel, it closed in the early 1980s and
was demolished to be replaced by flats. |
