Six Bells

 


 
The Six Bells was situated on the village green. This grade-II listed pub has now been demolished. It is mentioned in "The Happy Highways", which is one of the books in Rupert Croft-Cooke's autobiographical series. After the First World War it was kept by an ex-quartermaster named Parker.

Listed building details:
C17 or earlier timber-framed building, refaced in the C19 with red brick and grey headers. Four gables of imitation timbering. Tiled roof. Casement windows. Two storeys and attic. Eight windows. Two dormers.
