Royal Oak

The Royal Oak was situated on Pett Road, closing in 2009.

The Royal Oak closed August Bank Holiday 2009.  Agents for the administrators offered the property for auction in September 2010 and the Royal Oak went to auction in Brighton on 7 November realising £250000 (2 bidders and 4 bids from £240000 start point), It has been purchased by a consortium of local residents with the sole intention of returning it to its former purpose, a working pub. Although there are no definite dates for the reopening rumour has it that the owners are aiming for the doors to open at or around Easter 2011.  We the former regulars can’t wait.  It would be too much to hope for that this event marks the beginning of a national trend, but as always we live in hope.

Absolutely delighted to tell you that the ‘Royal Oak’ at Pett has at last re-opened its doors to the paying public.
