The Sportsmans Arms was situated on Birmingham Road. This M&B roadhouse was built in 1938 and closed c2000.  It had a panelled lounge and basic bar and an endless procession of functions room and banqueting suites. It is now used as a residential hotel, the Quality Hotel.

I went to Allesley on training courses to Jaguar's factory on browns lane early 1990,s stayed at the Coventry hill hotel. We went to the sportsman some nights esp.Thursday I think because they had entertainment a and stripper!
