The Bear & Ragged Staff was situated on Sheepy Road. This pub closed in 2014 sadly and was previously known as Boadicea's (presumably spelt like the celtic warrior who by legend ran her chariots down the watling street which cuts through the centre of the town, now known as Long Street since the A5 bypass was built in the town in the 1960's) The pub is now Maya curry house, but retains much of the original features inside with two 'halves' a left side bar and right side restaurant (where the stage and dancefloor used to be) The pub was relatively large and is sat on its own plot with a car park on either side next to the turnstiles for the Adders football ground.
