Swan Hotel

The Swan Hotel is situated at the junction of Warwick Road, Southam Road and Banbury Road.
This pub has now reopened.
My father and brother who still live in the village say it has closed and doubt if it will be re opened. It was famous in the 60's during the Profumo/Keller affair. Apparently Mandy Rice Davis stayed there some time. It was like the brother pub to the Red Lion just down the road from each other.

The Swan was my fathers local for more than 30 years and it was where I proposed to my wife in the car park in 1969. In the early 90's my wife and I were negotiating with Bass to either lease the Swan or purchase it. The negotiations broke down and Bass decided to install a manager. I am sure there are several reasons for the pub's closure but it will always hold fond memories for us.
