This was a modern estate pub located
right at the end of Kingswood Road next to the Nuneaton to Birmingham
railway line. It opened in 1984 at a cost of £500k. The first landlords were
George & Brenda Davies. It closed, however, and whilst standing empty
attracted vandals. It reopened as The Poacher's Pocket but was beset by
continued problems of vandalism, break-ins and theft. The last landlord,
David Sullivan, closed the pub after only thirty-eight days on 31st July
2007. Unfortunately, it was burnt to the ground shortly after in January
2008. |
