The New Oscott Tavern was situated at 211
Chester Road. This pub is now used as a restaurant and tea garden. |
|
I frequented the bar a lot in my youth 1975-1981
as I lived in Antrobus Road and it was just a short walk down the hill to
the pub.
I recall there being the usual cluster of regular nightly drinkers, a dart
board and hence pub darts team, pool table, fruit machine and pinball
machine. Sadly my memory no longer extends to the names of the Landlord and
Landlady, but I do recall she used to come and play darts now and again to
the delight of a number of the regulars - she was very good looking! The
names of the regulars have long gone apart from 'Mick' a carpet-fitter and
nightly regular who was pretty good at darts. |
