The Miners Arms closed in 2020, although the premises continued to be operated as an Airbnb property. The Miners Arms Community Pub Limited was formed to try to and achieve a community buy-out. On 15 June 2024, 243 shareholders contributions exceeded the minimum target of £95k share offer by £7,880 but the Community now awaits the outcome of the application for £369,333 to the Community Ownership Fund, because following the General Election the future of the fund is unclear and the Community has received no information on the progress of its bid.
