The Queens Head was situated at 23 St
Martins. This pub closed in 2021 during the Covid epidemic. Formerly a
Whitbread pub it suffered numerous re-openings and closures during the 00's
as a succession of publicans tried to ressurect it. This grade-II listed pub is
now in residential use. |

building details: |
Cl8. 2 storeys. Vitreous brick with
narrow red vertical bonded strips framing windows and doors. Brick dentil
eaves. Old tile roof. 5 windows on 1st floor, 3 windows on ground floor and
Cl9 door, in early Cl9 porch of slender wood Doric columns supporting ends
of cut wood brackets and flat hood with panelled soffit, this porch encased
in C20 wood work with gabled tile roof over, the revewal of which would
improve the appearance of the building. Yard entry to right hand. |
