Met my husband there. Remember the
outside lavs – unforgettable. Went back to Salisbury on a sentimental
journey last year – it’s now a shop but still has the mahogany bar as the
shop counter & I stood & looked at the corner where I first met my lovely
husband. |

I used to Live in The Fisherton Arms in
Salisbury as a teenager back in 1984 with my parents & 3 siblings. It was a
lovely place to live as finally I got my own bedroom, I put WHAM pictures
all over the walls from floor to ceiling, I’m sure when we left they cursed
me for all the sticky tape! I remember it was compact with no kitchen &
toilets outside & can still remember the smell of the cigarettes & beer
customers spilt on the bar, the music played from the juke box that was hung
on the wall. It was only a small pub compared to many others but the
customers made it a great place to meet up & socialise. I had a customer
come into my gift shop in Scotland this summer who told me it was no longer
a pub. I was however glad they told me it had been turned into a craft shop
as my gift shop now is all my own handmade crafts. Full circle :) |
