The Crown was situated on Church
Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in 2012 and now been converted into
houses. |

building details: |
Inn at end of row. Mid C19. Dressed
limestone, tiled roof with brick stacks to rear. L-plan. Two-storey,
4-window. Double C20 door with semi-circular fanlight to right of centre,
either side are late C19 two-storey bays with 3-light casements and
polygonal roofs, to left is elliptical-headed cart entry to stable yard.
First floor has 2-light casement with hoodmould over cart entry and over
doorway, good plaster inn sign to gable over right casement. Left return has
early C20 mullioned casements to rear wing. Interior not inspected. |
