The Vaults was situated at 126 Worcester Road.
This pub is now in residential use. |

I drank in The Vaults in Great Malvern
a few times as a novice drinker in the early eighties. My abiding memories
are of a very pleasant landlord and landlady who didn't mind the presence of
gauche eighteen year olds, various notes of foreign currency behind and
around the bar and jazz music being played. |

A traditional type pub, even had a
lovingly polished (brass?) footrail around the bar. Was turned into a
music/lap dancing venue for a while before it closed, due to noise/anti
social behaviour issues. Before it was turned into flats there were rumours
it was being used as a studio for blue movies. |

In the basement, in the early eighties,
was a room full of Space Invaders. And fourteen year olds, smoking fags. I
know because I was one of them. Those were the days. |
