The Valentia Arms has now been converted into apartments.

My grandfather Cyril Hammond Swift was the licensee in the late 1920's -30's. His wife Blanche and daughter Joan worked at the pub. A venue for fishermen, the local hunt, and cartoonists from London who created local caricatures on the starched cuffs of the staff shirts, these were naturally exhibited in the bar, and from memory were still in the décor in the mid 60's
