The Belle Vue Hotel was situated on Manningham Lane and is now used as an Indian restaurant. The Belle Vue was built in 1874 and was inspired by the chateaux of France.  It  was opposite Valley Parade, the home ground of Bradford City football club and played an important part in the history of the club from 1903 to when it closed as a pub in 1994.  The building was Grade II Listed in 1983. I was in Bradford in 1980/81 when doing an MBA. The Belle Vue at that time had 2 bars , one of which featured strippers and a topless DJ on virtually every session per week. The other bar still had a pool team and both bars had lots of territorial soldiers from the barracks nearly next door. There was a 10p charge to get in the strippers bar which went up to 20p at weekends (we felt this kept the riff raff out !), there were no jug collections only normally only 1 girl per session in the week and 2 at weekends. Basically a jolly place in those days, sad to see it's gone.
