The Globe was situated on Wakefield Road. This Whitaker's house has now been demolished.

My and my friend Chris Spencer, who both looked older than our years , had just been fitted out with our bespoke pine stripe suits. This was the norm then We were both 14, so the year was 1967 or 1968, and we were on a mission. We took a deep breath and walked into our first pub , the Globe on Wakefield Road , Dewsbury, to have our first underage pint With confidence we ordered a pint of bitter, sipped it, and pretended to enjoy it, yuk
