The Woolpack was situated at 20 Main Street. This was the pub featured in the ITV soap Emmerdale until 11 years
ago when filming was moved to a new location and it was bought as a genuine
pub.
According to the Metro free newspaper (Wed 25/8/2010) the licencees have
closed it as they were unable to get sufficient trade apart from tourists in
the summer. The owners Enterprise Inns state they are in discussions with
the licencees and wiil provide an update when they are in a position to do
so. |

The previous name of 'The Woolpack' was 'The Commercial' but the landlord
got fed up of technicians regularly changing the pub sign to 'The Woolpack'
and back again, for filming Emmerdale that he changed the name of the pub
instead. |

This pub reopened later in 2010 following a
closure period of a few weeks. |
