The Swan Inn was situated at 51 High
Street. The grade-II listed mid
18thC pub, with 19thC additions and alterations was formerly known as The
White Swan, and was refurbished and renamed c2013 with a modern bar, café,
Mediterranean courtyard garden and rooms. The rooms (Stable Yard Rooms) are
not affected by the closure. |

Inn. Mid C18, with C19 addition and
alterations. Rendered, C20 pantile and Welsh slate roofs. 3 and 2 storeys,
2:2 first-floor windows. Main range, to left, 3 storeys: plinth; central
9-panel door in narrow stone surround with splayed bases; 4-pane sash
windows, shorter on second floor, second- floor band; pantile roof; end
stacks. Later range, to right: 2 taller storeys; to right, segmental-arched
carriageway, now forming porch; 4-pane sash windows, with 1 to left of arch;
Welsh slate roof. |
