The Stag Inn was situated on Withernsea Road.  This pub was present by 1857 when the publican was Joseph Hope, and it was known as The Marrowbone & Cleaver.

David 1960 to closure Regular Saturday night customer. Many a good night, John Smiths, Magnet Ale. Just a tap room, landlord carried sprint bottles in his apron pocket. Remember the last night before it closed, but not the next day!
