The Black Bull was situated on the
Market Place and closed in 1959. At the last Brewster Sessions on 6th
February 1959 no application was made to renew the licence on the grounds of
structural deficiency. The last publican was Constance Mary Sharples. This grade-II listed
pub is now used as a bed and breakfast establishment. |

Hotel. Late C18 - early C19. Coursed
limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays.
Chamfered rusticated quoins. Central part-glazed door in ashlar surround
with slab cornice supported on brackets. Glazed gabled porch to right over
cellar entrance. C20 casement windows in ashlar surrounds. Shaped stone
gutter brackets. End stacks. |
