The Eastwood Tavern was situated on Bradford
Road. This pub is now used as a cafe. |
|
This pub was patronised by volunteers
from the nearby Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, especially on the night of
the annual Keighley Gala. The tap room had a seat with a leatherette cushion
which for some reason we had christened “the crocodile” and nobody was
supposed to sit on it. Those taking part in this annual ritual for the first
time would notice that the seat was vacant and try to sit on it, whereupon
the whole room would cry “don’t sit on the crocodile”. |
