The Hare & Hounds was situated at 31
Low Street. This pub was present by 1823 when the publican was Booth
Beercroft. It was closed on the 23rd November 1969, with the local authority
paying £10,250 compensation. The subsequent demolition along with other
properties allowed the construction of Worth Way, a tax office and job
centre. |
