Coach & Horses

The Coach & Horses was situated on Manchester
Road.
I was brought up here and my daughter was born in the pub. We went to live
here in 1950; my parents took it on from his brother in the name of Summers.
I am not sure just how long he lived there but we stayed until 1966 when the
pub had to close because it started to subside, the reason was that they
started to widen the A62 and diverted water that ran under the pub. The pub
was sold to Mr McCormack. who was a builder. He started it up and running
again in 1969. I am not sure just when it closed again .Now it is in ruins
due for re development of a house. |
