The Appletree

The Appletree has been a public house under various names since the 18th century, originally being known as The Spotted Cow. In recent times it won the National dining Pub of the Year Award in 2008. The successful proprietors, TJ & Melanie Drew moved on in 2009 at which point the pub remained closed for 2 years. It was resurrected in 2011 by Graham Kirk, a young chef trained by Heston Blumenthal. Despite Graham's enthusiasm, he was unable to come up with a business plan which suited the remote rural location, and the pub closed on the 19th May 2013.
