Bottled Note

The Bottled Note was situated on Borough Road. This pub closed on 23rd July 2023.

The pub was named after the sculpture "The Bottle of Notes" commissioned from internationally renowned artists and creators of public works, Claes Oldenberg and Coosje van Bruggen, for Middlesbrough Centre Square and erected in 1993.
The central Middlesbrough Pub has only been in existence since 2016 and is known for its rare drinks, rear beer garden (a Covid development) and roadside seating enclosure. However, its closure has been announced, effective from 4 January 2025.
The pub was briefly closed in July 2023 before re-opening less than a month later. This closure is permanent.
