The Star Inn closed for good at the end of August 2009 due in part to the sad death of the landlord, a much respected gentleman and genuinely original wit and sage. He and his lovely wife were in charge for nearly 30 years. They managed to maintain  a balance of friendly local and commercial enterprise without compromising either essential. A truly wonderful, lost in time series of experiences. I hope I speak for all the ,members of the Sunday Night Club, all of us appreciate the efforts of Tony and Dorothy.
