The New Inn was situated at 32-34 Market Place. This Tetleys grade-II listed pub closed in 1988 and is now used as a Superdrug store.

Market Place (South Side) Nos 32 and 34 (Formerly listed as Nos 32 and 34 (New Inn)) C18. Three storeys in stone with stone slate roof with two stone stacks. On each side of a central entrance is a bay window of three storeys; the moulded eaves cornice continues round the tops of the bays. One other window. Flat carriage arch to the left. Modernised interior. Includes former stables in yard to rear. Two storeys in stone, lintels to windows
