My parents ran this pub between 1970 to 1987 when they
retired. I was 8 years old when they moved in and grew up in the pub.
Have memories of some great local customers. We weren’t quite town
centre but drew a loyal regular customer base. My dad was one of a
renowned club of heavy drinking Ponte landlords at the time. Great chip
shop opposite the pub also gave some passing trade. |
