Britannia Inn

The Britannia Inn was situated at 62 Eastborough.

I was born in this Pub in 1932 and my cousin was born there in 1937. My grandparents ran this Pub for 21 years but had to leave in 1940 due to my grandfather's Ill health. They were the Brackenburys. It had a false set of stairs covering acces to the Cellar. The ale was delivered in large draybarrels on large carts pulled by Shire horses. The horses had a pint of beer at every pub they delivered to. I never set foot in it again.
