The Travellers Rest was situated at 22 Richmond Road.

A Community buy-out has succeeded, 12 years after the pub closed in 2008. Following a long-winded campaign by the owner to redevelop as housing went through rejections and appeals, agreement was reached in April 2021 for the Skeeby Community Pub Society to purchase it for £175k (having had an offer to purchase for £115k in 2010 rejected). Including a £50k grant from the Richmondshire District Council Investment Fund, the SCPS has now reached 80% of the estimated amount (£325k) needed to both purchase, and refurbish the pub. It is still selling shares to raise the remainder.
