The Fox Inn was situated at 90 The Village. This pub closed in 2011. There is a current planning application for new housing to be built on the car park.

The pub (operating as such as early as 1823) reopened at some point after 2011. It was turned into a Steak House from 2015, and there are reviews in 2020 and 2023. However, it closed again in August 2024. It was sold to Fox & Forest Ltd, owned by a couple of villagers. On 5 August 2025 an application to be awarded the status of Asset of Community Value submitted by CAMRA York to York Council was approved. This followed a village meeting in April expressing support for the application, and for a licensing application of the new owners to re-open as a pub.
