The Windmill Inn was situated on Sutton Road. The publican  in 1893 was John Kirby.

I am now the owner of Windmill house and have lived here since 1987. I have some of the old deeds and can see from the records that the pub was sold by Tower Brewery Tadcaster on the 04/07/1939 to Mr R Scaling who lived in it as a private residence until the mid 1960s. We did have a Canadian airman visit several years ago who had been billeted here  during WWII.
