1927 Company Established.
1927 Stand No.145 at the 1927 Motor Cycle and Cycle Show at Olympia
1930 Introduced the Tecalemit Service for lubricating vehicles using high
pressure lubrication
1934 Public company incorporated; the Tecalemit service was offered through
about 2500 garages; owned various patents including Tecalemit, Alemite and
Zerk systems of lubrication or coupling; the shares were being sold by W. H.
Botsford and Co who had acquired them from a predecessor company, Tecalemit
Ltd, which had been placed into voluntary liquidation.
1937 British Industries Fair Advert for Comprehensive Lubrication and Garage
Equipment. "Tecalemit", "Tecazerk", "Hydraulic", "Alemite", etc. Grease Gun
Systems, Lubrication Batteries, Brake Testers, mechanical Lubricators, Air
Compressors, Car Lifts, Car Washers, Tyre-Groovers, Fuel Pumps, Oil Filters.

1937 Lubrication specialist. "Tecalemit" Fuel Pumps, Oil Filters, Grease
Guns etc.
1938 Agreement with Laycock Engineering Co Ltd to manufacture and supply
garage equipment that had previously been obtained from outside suppliers;
Tecalemit would take over the marketing of Laycock garage equipment

1945 Advert. 'The war on friction. The authority on lubrication'.
1949 Advert for lubrication and servicing equipment.
By 1960 had developed several new areas of business including fire fighting
equipment, oil firing, industrial filtration, radar and precision
components. A new area of development was plastics which had been used to
make a hydraulic brake hose that had been qualified in USA. British Filters
was joint venture company. Development of the Brunt variable speed motor was
underway
1961 Suppliers of lubrication, hydraulic and filtration equipment; also
plastic products and vehicle servicing equipment. 2,500 employees.
1961 Amongst subsidiaries Foamite had had an exceptional year; Gabriel
Manufacturing Co was not trading well. British Filters became a wholly-owned
subsidiary. Tecalemit (Engineering) Ltd was formed to hold the trading
assets and activities
1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Components including Nylon tubing; garage
equipment.
1964 Took licence from a US manufacturer to make coin-operated car=wash
equipment in the UK
1966 Acquired Merryweather and Sons which became part of the fire fighting
and fire preotection division. Sold Tecalemit (Hind)
