Lost Pubs In Chadwell Heath, Essex

Chadwell Heath is an ill-defined area to the north of Dagenham and also including bits of the London boroughs of Redbridge and Havering. It was country side until the 20th century when it was swallowed up by the expansion of the surrounding areas of Dagenham, Ilford and Romford and of Greater London.

Most of the information below comes from a book Dagenham Pubs Past and Present, written by Tony Clifford a former librarian for Barking and Dagenham and published in 1996. Tony has obtained information from a wide variety of historical sources. He has also written a similar book for Barking pubs.
