The Bees Knees was situated at 9 St James Street. It closed in 2009.

The Bees Knees was formerly known as the Derby Inn. Thomas Wilkinson born about 1817 Huncoat Accrington was Hotel Keeper on the 1871 Census with his wife Sarah Wilkinson nee Hacking and his family. Thomas's daughter Bertha Wilkinson went on to marry Richard Leeming who was half cousin to Zachariah Leeming licensed victualer of the Globe Inn, 183 Blackburn Road Accrington.
