The Greyhound was situated at 72 Balls Pond Road. |
|
The Greyhound was formerly known as the Entertainers in the 1980s and held
nightly drag acts,There was a disco on Friday & Saturday night After the
show. Many of the Drag acts had also performed at the
Royal Oak in Wilton Way E8. I
remember watching these shows and how enjoyable and entertaining they were.
I think that's where the name Entertainers originated. |

This pub is noted as being a place of
entertainment throughout its long existence. Not recorded is the fact that
in the mid-late 1990s regular Sunday lunchtime Jazz sessions took place
there.
I played with one of the regular bands which performed, and have a recording
of one of the sessions. |
